President Donald Trump has plans for Gaza — make it a “freedom zone.”
Trump made that declaration Thursday during a visit to Qatar, per The Hill.
“I have concepts for Gaza that I think are very good. Make it a freedom zone, let the United States get involved, and make it just a freedom zone” Trump said.
“I’d be proud to have the United States have it, take it, make it a freedom zone, let some good things happen. Put people in homes where they can be safe, and Hamas is going to have to be dealt with,” Trump continued.
This isn’t the first time the president broached the idea. He has said Palestinians in Gaza would be relocated as the U.S. takes over the strip. He has not, however, said how the U.S. would take it over.
Not everyone is on board with this idea. This includes the head of the Palestinian National Authority, as well Saudi Arabia,
