Newly released surveillance footage appears to show Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan confronting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, shortly before she allegedly aided an illegal immigrant out of the building and avoid detention via a private jury exit.
According to Fox News, Dugan was arrested over the incident in April for obstructing a U.S. agency and unlawfully concealing an individual that was subject to arrest – Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican illegal alien who was suspected of domestic violence.
In the surveillance footage, Dugan appears to be seen in her Judges robes, approaching ICE agents and confronting them in the courthouse hallway, not long after Flores-Ruiz can be seen walking directly passed the agents.
Agents from ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), alongside federal agents from the FBI, DEA, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection had planned to serve Flores-Ruiz with a warrant in a courthouse hallway on April 18, ahead of his scheduled court appearance with Dugan.
Upon learning of the arrest warrant for Flores-Ruiz, Dugan allegedly informed the agents that a judicial warrant was required and directed them to the chief judge’s office.
After the agents left the hallway, Dugan allegedly opted against holding a hearing for Flores-Ruiz and instead escorted him through a private exit. The footage then shows Flores-Ruiz leaving the building with his lawyer while being followed by a federal agent.
Flores-Ruiz was captured about a block from the courthouse.
Fox News further reported Dugan was arrested a week later and faces a maximum sentence of six years in prison.
